Speaker Profile

David Badre is Professor and Chair of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences at Brown University and a faculty member in the Carney Institute for Brain Science. His lab at Brown focuses on the cognitive neuroscience of memory and cognitive control, and has made pioneering contributions to the neuroscience of cognitive control and executive function. Drawing on cutting-edge research, vivid clinical case studies, and examples from daily life, Badre sheds light on the evolution and inner workings of cognitive processes, examining issues from multitasking and willpower to habitual errors and bad decision making. His most recent book is : How Our Brain Gets Things Done.
