av福利社 will be the global publisher of Bird Photographer of the Year

This stunning volume, the latest to accompany the annual, international photography competition, will be a vibrant addition for PUP鈥檚 renowned nature publishing program.

av福利社 is delighted to share plans to publish Bird Photographer of the Year in North America and the United Kingdom. The book will be released in both markets on September 24, 2024, the same day winners of the annual competition are announced.

With a foreword by Simon King, an award-winning nature documentary cinemaphotographer鈥攎ost recently for the landmark BBC series Wild Isles, with David Attenborough鈥攖he gorgeous, large-format volume will feature more than 300 color photographs, both winning and short-listed images, from professional and amateur photographers alike and with details about the camera used for each shot. The book will be edited by Will Nicholls, a BAFTA-nominated cinematographer who directs the renowned international competition.

The Bird Photographer of the Year contest, now in its ninth year, is judged by some of the world鈥檚 leading photographers and avian conservationists, who select from tens of thousands of submissions. Prize categories include Creative Imagery, Birds in the Environment, Birds in Flight, Bird Behavior, Urban Birds, Black-and-White, Best Portrait, Attention to Detail, Best Portfolio, Conservation Award, and Young Bird Photographer of the Year. Both the prize and the books celebrate the artistry and diversity of bird photography the world over and are guided by a commitment to conservation, with a portion of profits from book sales going to the charity
